Our Custom Homes Process

At Corrado Custom Homes, our home-building process ensures that you get the best results. Learn how we do what we do to make the process easier and a home that’s simply built better.

Step 1. Meet with Angelo to discuss your project.

Each client of Corrado Custom Homes starts with a meeting with Angelo to go over your project. Here, we review the plans you bring us, or we design a new plan based on modifying our past projects. We are always happy to use one of the 30+ home plans we have on file. This is also our opportunity to discuss financing, our building process, and to get a feel for what you are looking for in your new home.

Step 2. Have home plans re-drawn by our architect.

Once we determine exactly what you are looking for, we can have our home plans drawn by our in-house architect. This process can take up to four, or more, review sessions to develop a finalized plan. Factors such as the size and complexity of the home design will ultimately dictate the timeline; however, four review sessions is typical.

Step 3. Make your selection.

It is at this point that clients meet with Jill, our in-house design consultant in our design center, to make selections such as interior and exterior colors, flooring, cabinetry, and more. Design sessions are done both in our design center and at vendors showrooms (flooring, countertops, and cabinetry). This process typically takes three design sessions, including one to two selection meetings at our flooring and/or cabinetry supplier showrooms.

Step 4. Gathering Pricing

After all selections have been made, the finalized plans, selections sheets, and cabinetry drawings are sent out to our subs and vendors for pricing. The timeline on gathering and reviewing the pricing takes about 3-4 weeks depending on the type of selections made.

Step 5. Price Review

Clients meet with Angelo and Jill to discuss the final price of the client’s home. Once you agree to the final price of your home, we can sign a contract to build. This is also an opportunity to discuss what selections or changes need to be made to the home plan to get you to your budget, while maintaining the integrity of the home design.

Step 6. Contracting Signing

Once you have thoroughly reviewed and agreed to the quoted pricing, we can move on to the building contract paperwork, selection sheets, and blueprint mark-ups, specifically outlining the details of your project.

Step 7. Financing

You then take a copy of this paperwork to your financial institution for final approval of your loan documents and construction loan approval. A closing is then scheduled by your financial institution and we receive a deposit giving us the okay to start the actual building process of your project.

Step 8. Permits

At Corrado, we file all permits for you after the construction loan is approved and deposit has been received. It’s just one less thing you have to worry about.

Step 9. Build!

When building permits are issued, we create a daily schedule of your job that includes a tentative start and end/move-in date for you to follow.  Purchase orders are then released for construction to begin.
