The Bartal custom home in Fleetwood, PA is a modern-style farmhouse. This Berks County family wanted to have a bright, airy home full of natural lighting. We custom-built this home to have three bedrooms, two full bathrooms, and a half bathroom in 1,963 square feet of open-concept living space.

We brought a rustic touch to the outside of the home with a full front porch with wood stained posts to match the front door. Inside the home, the main living space is completely open, with views of the kitchen, dining room, and great room with a loft above. The great room features a corner gas fireplace with full-height stone surround with a raised hearth and a barn beam mantle.

The kitchen was completely customized, tailored to fit the homeowner’s specific wants and needs. All cabinetry was custom painted bright white to offset the grey quartz kitchen countertops. We installed a raised bar on the island to seat a family of four. For this family, storage was extremely important, so we incorporated tons of storage and hidden pull-out doors to hide snacks from little hands. This maximized utility for this beautiful island. The homeowner wanted a large window overlooking the backyard to be able to watch the children play, providing plenty of natural light. There are hardwood floors throughout the kitchen for easy clean-up and a rustic feel.

The laundry room has a full wall of windows, making doing laundry more enjoyable. This room features brick-like tile throughout. The powder room on the first floor has a wall-mounted sink that was a specific request by the homeowner.

The first floor master bedroom has hardwood floors and there are luxury vinyl tile floors in the master bathroom. The master bath has a custom-designed vanity with a tri-view medicine cabinet recessed into the wall.

Oak treads and painted risers on the stairs lead you to the large loft on the second floor, which is used as a reading nook, TV room, and playroom for the children. The loft has faux stained beams to add an old-farmhouse look. Small transom windows bring in more natural light. The kids’ bedrooms and bathroom complete the second floor. The kids’ bathroom also has custom cabinetry and luxury tile flooring.
